Like many women, I wasn’t fully prepared for the changes that hit in my late 40s. Perimenopause arrived first, followed by a cascade of physical and emotional shifts.

For years, I had focused on raising our three children and volunteering in my community. When they left for college, I suddenly had time and opportunity—but no clear direction.

Around that time, my father passed away, and my mother began to struggle with cognitive decline. Caring for her opened my eyes to the importance of home design and lifestyle choices that support health, independence, and dignity.

Then, life threw me another challenge. After noticing small movement and balance issues, my doctor ordered tests. A few years later, I was officially diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

I won’t sugarcoat it—my life looks different now. I had to give up tennis, adapt to medical treatments, and rethink my daily routines. But I refuse to let MS define me. I prioritize nutrition, exercise, mindset, and a supportive home environment to maintain my health and independence. My husband of nearly 40 years has been my rock through it all.

Knowing my condition could progress, I pursued industry certifications in home modifications that make spaces functional and beautiful. When we remodeled our home, we applied smart, elegant design choices to ensure it would support us comfortably for decades to come.

Now, I’m passionate about helping other women do the same—not because they have to, but because it’s practical, stylish, and liberating.
